On my second trip to Portland, OR in as many years, I’m happy to report that the PDX food scene is only getting better. Many new restaurants have opened since my last visit and I was fortunate to dine at several of these last week.

Mexican At Home: Tamales
One of my favorite Mexican dishes has always been tamales even though they are so often poorly done when dining out. I fell in love with them in Phoenix about 15 years ago. At that time there were these fast food joints that specialized in tamales (I suppose they’re still there) — they were fantastic and cheap.
