Culinography: Stroopwafels

by Erin Gleeson

Picture 1

I was recently in Holland for a week, and my good friend and travel buddy, Josh, became OBSESSED with stroopwafels, a Dutch delicacy. A stroopwafel is like a big wafer cookie sandwich that’s a bit chewy and filled with a sweet syrupy honey filling, and every bakery makes them differently. We hunted all over Holland for these and I think the ones at the adorable cafe Lanskroon in Amsterdam were among our favorites.

Oh yeah, I used to have a client who would always bring stroopwafels for us in the office. I became obsessed as well. The last time I was in NYC I discovered this.

Dammit. We get shitty pop-tarts but they get STROOPWAFLES?
