My colleague Kristen who produces videos for Japan Society’s Youtube channel, asked me if I knew of any onigiri (rice balls) shops since they wanted to showcase them in an upcoming video. I thought, “How about I teach how to make onigiri in the video?” That’s how this project started.

I had a lot of fun, and in the process I also found out that cooking rice in a regular pot is so much easier than using a rice cooker.  I wanted to talk more about Yoko’s now-famous onigiri post and all its comments, but for a first video appearance, I think I did pretty ok, don’t you think?  It’s rather long, but funny.

One more step closer to Martha!
