Yeah I suppose rose syrup will work in this drink, but take out the agave nectar as the syrup will add sufficient sweetness. If you are going to use rose syrup, I suggest using the kind that's not too cloyingly sweet and artificially bright red, as it just dominates the drink, both in sweetness and color.

You can also make rose syrup yourself, by simply adding rosewater to simple syrup.

Last night I actually used rose syrup in a punch I made for a Persian party. It was made of black tea, mint leaves, muddled orange zest, orange juice, lime juice, rose syrup, rum, bourbon, and gin. It was a hit!

If you want to play around with rose syrup in cocktails, here's a suggestion. Start with a formula of 2 oz spirit to 1 oz rose syrup to 1 oz sour (lemon, lime, etc). It's essentially the basic foundation of a sour, and you can use it as an easy starting point for creating cocktails with the syrup. Naturally you may have to adjust the various ingredients up or down to taste, since that's just a loose formula.
