Tokyo JUNKtion: Caramel Pudding Kit Kat

by yoko

Caramel Pudding Kit Kat
After trying two Kit Kat flavors available in Japan with gag-inducing colors: light aqua for the Ramune Kit Kat and salmony orange for the Mango Pudding Kit Kat, I was seriously relieved to see that the Caramel Pudding Kit Kat was poo-colored just like the OG chocolate Kit Kat.

As I busted open the package, I got a great artificial lab-produced scent of flan! It was heavenly. The smell was really impressive considering it captured the essence of burnT caramel to a T.

As an experiment, I pinched my nose to supress my ability to smell the faux flan de toilette. As I suspected, it tasted just like the OG. It was almost like they just started with a regular chocolate Kit Kat and spritzed a squirt of flan de toilette. For more of a punch, I would have liked to see them actually add a layer of caramel into the wafer or between the wafer and the chocolate.

But, I would say that the Caramel Pudding Kit Kat kicked both asses of the Ramune and Mango Pudding Kit Kats which were available during the summer months. Just don’t hold your breath when eating this one because it’ll take all the caramel goodness out of the experience.
