Postcards from Japan, I: Pon de Ring Donut

Postcards From Japan, I: Mister Donut

I have been going through my hard drive and am finding a shitton of Japan Food pics from my visit last year that I never shared with you. My one-year anniversary of leaving NYC is fast approaching- I left on November 3 and went straight to Japan for nearly the entire month, remember? It’s all really tripping me out lately, that a year could sweep by so quickly- I miss all of you in NYC very much.

But I have to tell you: I’m not moving back. There, I finally said it!!!!

I’m sure I’ll get all sentimental and teary-eyed soon enough, but for now, I’m just gonna start posting random pics from my trip every now and again until they run out. Let the nostalgia train blast off!

There really is no place to eat like in Japan- it is at once glorious and oppressive. It was just so special to be there during the peak of autumn- the way the food matches the landscape is unparalleled. Here goes!

Above photo: the famous “Pon de Ring” donut from Mister Donut, at Kyoto Station.

Yeah the Butt Bead donut is such an oddity. It's too eggy and spongy for me. But it's resemblence to butt beads is enough reason for me to be entertained by its existence.

    Also, check this guy out:

Yes! Yoko and I talked about the butt bead donut before, I loves it! I mean cause it's funny, not because it looks like a butt bead.
