I ♥ Inari

by Mel

A couple weeks back I got a new car. My beloved 1984 chocolate brown volvo (aka “Dr. Chocolate”, “The Spruce Moose” and “The Shit Box”) was at the end of its days and there was no chance in hell it would pass inspection. I tested a 2007 white VW rabbit – instantly fell in love with it and instantly knew it had to be named “Inari”. It’s shaped like an inari (like a cute little pillowcase that you want to curl up with) and and even though it’s not the same color, the pure white exterior reminds me of something Japanese – maybe just because it’s clean? “Mochi” seemed way too cutesy. And some of you know that when I went to Japan I shamelessly forewent Kyoto’s haute cuisine and lived off of 6-packs of Inari from the konbini. So, here is my new car. Inari. (and if they had room for 8 characters, I would have had it “Inarisan”).
