Aloha Potluck
I thought a few business trips to Hawaii was going to be the big perk of my new job, but after yesterday, I think our potluck staff lunches may be right up there. I’m still in a food coma! The majority of the Senator’s staff is from Hawaii, so we were treated to some real home cooking.
Check out the homemade, individually wrapped spam musubi (definitely a Hawaiian local favorite):

There there were salads such as these — somen salad:

And sesame noodle salad (made by yours truly):

For entrees, such things as bourbon chicken and roast duck were brought in (the duck was store bought, but who cares!)…I missed photos of chicken curry, pineapple spare ribs, roast pork buns, kahlua pork (Hawaiians do love their pork!):

I was too busy eating to take photos of desserts, but there were cupcakes, bread pudding, a homemade coconut chocolate (think Mounds) roll, cookies, etc. I still miss Yamahomo’s spreads, but in the meantime, this will hold me over!
Aloha!
