Cupcake Cone

by Hamamama

I’ve been intrigued by the cupcake cone that the Treats Truck has been selling the last few Wednesdays. So I had to get one yesterday – but I still had to get my butterscotch pecan brownie too!!

Chris and I called an impromptu meeting in an empty conference room to dissect and discuss the cupcake cone. It comes in a few flavors (vanilla frosting with sprinkles or chocolate chips, chocolate frosting with chocolate chips and mint chocolate with chocolate chips. I had to go with the mint chocolate!

It’s basically a cupcake baked into an ice cream cone. Interesting concept. They’re really cute – I thought the cone had lost it’s crunch though. I can see little kids getting a big kick out of them at a birthday party. It was delicious to try once, but I’m sticking with my butterscotch brownie!

Top Chef, eat your heart out.

Chris: I think the ice cream cone is a little stale.

Lori: Yes, I agree, the texture of the cone was a little soft, but the chocolate chips made up for it. Still, I think the presentation needs a little work. I’m not giving up my butterscotch brownie. Sorry.

    Contestant: *cries*

oh yes – good point, Chris…to our surprise there were chocolate chips inside the cake mix too – not just on top in the frosting!
