Lunch at “Le Deck” Chexbres, Switzerland

by Sonja

Helloooo. I’m currently staying in Geneva for an undecided amount of time but had my first “big” meal today. While my mother is here for a few days we didn’t do anything so we went to Mont Blanc. On the way back we stopped by this restaurant in Chexbres recommended by my Uncle.

How devastating is this view?

This is the outdoor restaurant of the Baron Tavernier Hotel, called “Le Deck.”

It’s like the O.C. ~*luxurious*~~

Sorry to bother you with these pictures but you were basically paying for the view.

There was a bit of a wait so we had drinks at the bar.

Campari and orange juice. I actually liked their slanting glasses.

Wine on the waiter’s recommendation. The area is covered with vineyards so it was something local. Don’t ask me I don’t know anything about wine!

Unfortunately we arrived too late for their lunch set menu and had to order off a very short afternoon menu.

My mother got féra, which I’m assuming is perch, taken from Lake Geneva. This was almost $50 which I say is expensive for perch. But I guess you have to pay a Swiss **premium**~~.

I got melon with a salad of crawfish which is kind of random but there were only like 3 things to choose from. It tasted mostly like dill but the olive oil on the plate was quite good.

Movenpick ice cream was definitely the best part of the meal. I mean apart from the view. I love their ice creams…these were pistachio and espresso, but like the MOST tasty pistachio and espresso. I keep seeing ads for a coconut flavor with toasted sesame stay tuned…

Omg guess what I left my apartment for two days and turned off all the electricity because I’m scared of fire. Unfortunately I also shut off my fridge…it was sooooo scary to open!!!
